Homegrown Grilled Hamburgers

Tonight was such a beautiful night with hardly any wind, so what better night to grill some homegrown burgers? We have a freezer full of homegrown beef! It is no nice to be able to grab the meat that we want for a meal with a few steps to the basement, plus we know that it helps meet our daily protein requirements!

When it comes to high-quality protein, beef is our families first choice! When I compared beef to plant based proteins I learned that 3 ounces of cooked beef has the same amount of protein as things such as quinoa and peanut butter with fewer calories.

When we got our last beef butchered we had the locker package patties into 1/3 lb. patties. We save the patties to throw on the grill frozen, but often times use our ground beef to make hamburgers.

Tonight I went with the patties for a quick alternative as we were crossing lots of other tasks off of the to do list like: cleaning cattle pens, putting bales in bale feeders, and baptizing a chicken. Yes, you read that right. Ellie asked me tonight why we don't baptize our animals, so she started with her chicken named, Moose!
