I love all things fall, but these are definitely my top 5 Fall Loves!

The Colors

Hello, my favorite color is yellow, which is a beautiful fall color.  My mom always said it was a difficult task to find yellow swimsuits, bikes, and snow pants.  Lucky for me yellow is now a pretty popular color and I can find lots of clothing in yellow. I feel like my love of fall colors comes from my Grandma Janice.  She was always using browns, oranges, and yellows in her decor. She had a fall birthday, maybe that's why she always chose those colors.

The Scents

All things cinnamon, clove, pumpkin, vanilla chai, you name it I love it.  There is no better feeling/smell than walking in the house to the smell of an apple crisp.  It is even better if those apples were harvested off of our trees!

Pumpkins and Apples

I love taking little day trips to our favorite apple orchards and pumpkin patches. We have made a trip to Gay Mills every year since we have been married and it has been such a fun tradition to continue with our kids. We love getting big bags of apples and driving through the windy roads gazing at the changing leaves.

Harvest

I love watching the combines roll in the fields, love the sound of the dryer running and as a kid (and adult) delivering meals to the field has always been at the top of my list. Harvest is a time to work together as a family and to bring in the bounty.

Decorations

Pumpkins, leaves, burlap, straw, I can find a place for it all. My decorations don't stop at those in the house either, I love to decorate our farm with fall decorations.

What do you love about fall?  Any favorite places that you visit?

Stories need to be told.  You heard me say a few days ago in this post.  I truly believe it, our stories need to be told.  When I speak to large groups part of my message is encouraging people to share their stories because if they don’t someday those stories will be gone. Well after many conversations (some with others and some in my own head) I have decided that I am going to take the opportunity to share stories for people that may not have the means or platform to do it.  I want to tell of their successes, tragedies, funny stories and how they truly lived farm, ranch, rural, and ag life. I want to tell the stories that I wish I had written down about my grandparents and their parents.

Do you know a farmer, rancher, or person involved in agriculture that you think would love to give a gift of their story for all of us to enjoy?  I say gift because it truly is a gift to those that will be reading the stories. It will be a gift to the next generation and will be a gift to the people that lived the story. It will be a way for them to know their legacy to continue to live on. I want to talk to people of all ages, genders, and states!  I want to tell your story.

Will you allow me the pleasure of telling your story through pictures and words? It would be my pleasure.

Complete this form to recommend yourself or another farmer, rancher, or person in agriculture.
