Oh man, this was truly one of my FAVORITE weekly posts from my old blog! I loved it so much that I wanted to be sure to continue it over here.
So...what inspires me today? I will tell you that it is one of the same things that inspired me years ago, hence why I have a tattoo of it on my writst. What inspires me? People that crush their excuses. People that tackle their dreams and goals head on. People that aren't afraid of what others might think.
There is not a day goes by that I do not look at my tattoo and remind myself to crush my excuses. The difference between the day I got the tattoo and today? There are so many more things I am working toward and it feels like so many more excuses to make. With that being said, that doesn't not mean I gave up, just because there are more things and more excuses-does not mean you quit! It means try harder. Work smarter. Go to bed earlier. Wake up earlier. Write your dreams down (yes, physically pen them on paper, even if you aren't a paper nerd like me.)
What inspires me today, comes from the same place it did in 2011, lives of people willing to lay it all on the line for our freedom just like JT did for us. Crush your excuses, don't look behind you look forward and inspire someone today!
What inspires you? Comment below and tell us! I would love to hear more about it, too. I am looking for guests to blog on the topic of What Inspires You. Email me at email@example.com if you are interested.
For those of you that have been my friends on social media, you may remember the days of my blog Just A Mom Giving It A “Tri”. If so, I hope you are as excited as I am for this new adventure with Tails From The Gravel Road. Hopefully, everyone understands my play on words with “tails” instead of “tales.” My plan for this blog is to share:
- the funny and sometimes “not so funny” stories of farm life
- health and wellness
- life at the Schmitt house (recipes, tips, tricks, parenting)
- personal development
-my wellness journey
Since the last time I wrote on Just A Mom Giving It A Tri there have been so many changes. At that time I was a stay at home mom, my husband always laughed when I told people I was a stay at home mom. The mileage on my vehicle told a little different story as I was leading fitness classes, Weight Watchers meetings, and the girls and I didn’t exactly stay home much. 🙂 In September of 2015, I had surgery as a result of my battle with crohn's disease. Now, I am working full time as a special education consultant and while I haven’t been blogging I have continued my writing (more on that soon.) I now find myself trying to find balance with work, home, marriage, farm life, parenting, life with crohn’s disease, and fitness. Lord knows it’s not easy, but I am still trying.
Thanks for joining me on this new adventure! I can’t wait to share more of what has been happening in the last few years and the years to come. Be sure to check out the other pages on the website in the menu above.
