Here we are again with another winter storm, I feel like this one kind of came from nowhere. Or I just wasn't paying attention to the weather reports.

I was able to get some cleaning done, laundry finished, read and watched a little personal development and a got a run on the treadmill in this morning!

Sometimes these unexpected days off are kind of nice, although, I tend to use the time to catch up on things that I just don't take the time to get done on the weekends, plus need to keep checking on those new babies we have outside.

Listening to my favorite podcast "Rise Together"

After I posted about Hot Chocolate 15K Training, I received lots of questions about what kind of earbuds I use. Trust me, I get it! I know why people are asking. I have had everything from the regular old apple earbuds to honkin' big ear muff looking things. I have spent more money on "headphones' than I care to admit. I have purchased the cheap dollar spot kind to leave in lots of locations, I have saved earbuds from a flight to Florida and I have even shipped two different kinds back to Amazon that I didn't like. Then I found the Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones!

I love these because they are wireless and they hold their charge FOREVER! They work great for running because they stay in your ears and don't bounce in and out. Since they are wireless and connect via bluetooth you don't have to worry about a cord getting in the way. There is a small cord that goes from each ear, it just runs behind your head.

So did you catch above that I said I "watched" a little personal development? If you have Amazon Prime, drop everything you are doing and go watch, drumroll please...

It's free if you have Amazon Prime and only $4.99 if you don't! So set aside a couple of hours, snuggle up with your favorite notepad and get ready to be challenged. It will be well worth your time, trust me!

Do you have a favorite brand or pair of earbuds? Do you like to listen to music or podcasts while you exercise? Have you seen Made For More? I would love to hear what you think about it!

Week 5 here we come! I have joined other "Sole Crazy Runners" in training for the Hot Chocolate 15 K this year. Fingers are crossed that the weather cooperates at we actually get to go do the race. 🙂 Last year there was a LOT of snow. Check out the description from the race website and tell me that this doesn't sound awesome?

"Get ready for the best chocolate you’ve ever tasted! We serve delicious dark chocolate that is gluten free and has no compounds. Have a nut allergy? No problem! Our chocolate is nut free. You don’t have to wait until the finish line to enjoy some chocolate. There will be sweet stations along the course. The sweet stations will include marshmallows, chocolate chips, and M&Ms to enjoy along your way. "

This will be my first "race" since I did Grandma's Marathon in Duluth in 2016. Actually, after I finished that race, I just kind of stopped running. 🙁 It makes me sad to think of what I had accomplished that day and then just kind of quit. Reflecting on it and knowing what I know about myself now, I thrive on having the next "race" or next thing to work towards. It keeps me motivated.

I am finding that with this current training plan that I truly HAVE to do my workouts in the early mornings or they just don't happen. I feel like my stomach (stupid crohn's) handles early morning runs way better, too. The other bonus of having a training plan is that it helps accumulate those miles on my Venture to the Vee Bar!

Tell us-Are you training for a race or event? What is your favorite time to workout or move? Have you ever completed a Hot Chocolate event?
